Arthritis is a huge problem, affecting more than 10 million people in the UK, and we believe the time is right for us to raise its profile, both among the general public and government. Arthritis Research UK is the charity leading the fight against arthritis.

We’re working to take the pain away for sufferers of all forms of arthritis and helping people to remain active. We’ll do this by funding high class research, providing information and campaigning. Everything we do is underpinned by research

Arthritis Research UK funds more than 250 current grants into all types of arthritis and related musculoskeletal conditions; from laboratory-based science through to multi-centre clinical trials.

One of our biggest success stories of the past 20 years has been the development of new treatment for rheumatoid arthritis called anti-TNF therapy, which has revolutionised the treatment of inflammatory arthritis worldwide.

Our current portfolio includes exciting work into stem cell therapies for osteoarthritis, improving joint replacement surgery and pioneering the next generation of treatments.

Everything we do is underpinned by research, and your help by entering a team in the Salford Dragon Boat Festival to support us, you will take us one step closer to our aim of “a future free from arthritis”.
